For 30 years Street Sounds have released innumerable compilations in different music genres, ranging from Electro, Hip Hop, House, Hip House, Go Go, Funk, Jazz Funk, Disco, Soul Classics, Gospel, Slow Jams, African…the list is endless and includes almost every ‘Black’ and ‘Street’ music genre.  The label has also released seminal Box Sets including ‘Essential Electro’, ‘Solar Box Set’ (Solar Records anthology), ‘Philadelphia Story’ (history of Philadelphia International Records), ‘Dance Decade’ (Disco anthology), ‘History of House Music’, ‘Back To Black’ (history of ‘Black’ Music from 1900 to 1999), which have all become valuable and much sought after collectors’ items. 

Many journalists and music historians have accredited the Street Sounds Electro compilations as introducing the Electro/Hip Hop genre to the mainstream UK population as well as launching numerous new artists.
